Tyre retreading, also known as re-capping, is a process that gives new life to worn-out tyres. Once a new tyre has worn down 85% of its tread rubber on the crown area, it is recommended that it be removed for retreading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyre retreading significantly reduces the environmental impact,\u00a0compared to manufacturing new tyres,\u00a0by conserving resources, lowering emissions, diverting waste from landfills and enabling recycling of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tread rubber used by City Retread offers increased mileage, resulting in better Cost per Kilometer (CPK) and reduced overall operational costs for customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retreaded tyres are recommended for use on trailer axles and dummy axles of tipper trucks. Subject to proper tyre pressure maintenance and vehicle wheel alignment, a retreaded tyre performance is expected to be over 70% of the mileage achieved by a new tyre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
